*Wednesday 7:30 PM* Vigil at Avon Traffic Circle

August 4, 2015

GVCP¹s 41st Annual Vigil to Commemorate the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki On August 6, 1945, the U.S. dropped the first nuclear bomb, on Hiroshima, Japan. On August 9th, 1945, the second bomb was dropped on Nagasaki. This Wednesday, August 5th, GVCP will commemorate 70 shameful years of being unable to free ourselves from these doomsday weapons, and from our so-called leaders who love them. Stand with Genesee Valley Citizens for Peace for a sustainable future, free of nuclear weapons! The vigil will be begin on Wednesday August 5th, 7:30 PM, Avon traffic circle, Route 20, Avon, NY. Signs, candles, and song provided! Please note that this is GVCP¹s 41st Annual Vigil marking the Hiroshima/Nagasaki bombing. We invite all friends of peace to join us for this event. To our knowledge, we are the only peace organization in the Genesee Valley to commemorate the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. If you love peace and hate nuclear weapons, this vigil is the time and place to show that. Note: We can continue with the vigil if there¹s light rain. It doesn¹t work in heavy rain. If you¹re not certain, call Hank Stone at 585-624-3673. If it¹s close to 7:30 PM, and you can¹t reach Hank, call my cell phone 585-752-0676. Arnie Matlin doc icon H-N-GVCP-2015.doc
