One contributing factor is the National Rifle Association (NRA), which spends about $1 million per year lobbying Congress against controls on guns. NRA board members own companies that make assault rifles, high capacity magazines, and ammunition. When the NRA says Obama will ‘take your guns,’ sales, and profits, soar.
