Here’s a link to an interview that Amy Goodman held with Lori Berenson on January 4th. Long-time GVCP members will remember that Lori was held in Peru for 20 years. (Three years in an unheated prison cell in the Andes—basically a torture cell. Then 12 years in a somewhat better prison, and then five years of house arrest in Peru.) GVCP worked hard for her release for many years from the day she was arrested.
Lori Berenson has finally been released. She had her only media interview with Amy Goodman on Democracy Now!. Amy Goodman has been following Lori’s case since the beginning, and she even traveled to Peru to interview Lori in 1999.

I had real trouble getting the link to work. If you’re having trouble too, go to the Democracy Now website, and go to Archives, and January 4th, 2016, and see if it works for you. (It works for most people, just not very well for me.)
This pretty much closes the subject of Lori Berenson for GVCP. We did our best, as did thousands of other people all over the world, but we could never get her freed. However, it’s certainly possible that we made her life a little easier.
