Annual GVCP Hiroshima/Nagasaki Candlelight Vigil
Avon traffic circle, Routes 5 & 20, Avon. This yearly event—our 42nd year—is a very powerful, moving, public statement of our dedication to peace and nuclear disarmament. This year is the 71st anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Please join us, and bring a friend! Rochester peace activists—we need your help to increase the number of people at this vigil! The Avon traffic circle is just a few minutes west of I-390 Exit 10.
Note: Before the vigil, at 6:30 PM, some GVCP members will gather at Tom Wahl’s restaurant, 283 East Main St. (Routes 5 & 20) in Avon for a snack. All welcome!
Everyone: We really need rain in Livingston County, but we’re not going to get it tonight. The vigil is on the shady side of the traffic circle, so it should be pleasant there. Bring a chair if you need one.
Peace,
Arnie Matlin
