“Moments of Campaign (Instantes de Campaña)”

WHEN: Wednesday, October 5, 2016, 6:00 PM (NOTE time!)
WHERE: Casa Hispana at Nazareth College, 4245 East Ave, Rochester, NY 14618

The Rochester Committee on Latin America (ROCLA) and Casa Hispana at Nazareth College collaborate to bring us this revealing film, produced and directed by Ecuadorian filmmaker Tomás Astudillo. This documentary explores the different angles of the second political campaign of Rafael Correa, President of Ecuador, and the phenomenon of politicians as political icons. The film is the last of three films being shown at the Latin American Film Festival.
On February 17, 2013, Rafael Correa won the election to become President of Ecuador for the 3rd time. 42 days prior, he set out on an epic campaign of songs, speeches and interviews as he toured the country with his team. Correa always said yes to a handshake or a picture when surfing a crowd of future voters. Apart from being a historical document, the film invites us to reflect on the country’s contemporary way of doing politics.

This event is FREE and open to the public!
