Message   Dear Genesee Valley Citizens for Peace,

Hi, my name is Olivia Dehm and I am an organizer from a new group in the area called Western NY for Humanity. I am sending this email as an invitation to you and all involved with your organization to a Peace Rally that we have been organizing from 1:30 – 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 8th at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park in downtown Rochester.  [Also known as Manhattan Square Park, 353 Court St, Rochester, NY 14607]  All the permits with the city have been secured.

The purpose of the event is for community members to come together to support a world of peace, love, and equality. We have various speakers who will share stories intended to strengthen compassion here in Western NY, a compassion that will fortify our support for one another. Some of the speakers we have lined up include Reverend Chava Redonnet  from the Oscar Romero Inclusive Catholic Church, Rowan Collins from the LGBTQ Academy at the Gay Alliance, Sareer Fazili from Islamic Community Center, Carly Fox from Workers Justice Center, and tentatively Mike Boucher from St. Joseph’s Neighborhood Center. There is also space for more speakers, so if you know anyone who might be interested or anyone who might be interested in playing music, let us know. We will also have musical groups lead us in song and a collaborative art project to create together.

Would you be willing to share the event? Would you be interested in having a speaker?

We’re really excited about having so many amazing speakers coming and are working to spread the word and get as many people there as possible from diverse communities in the Rochester area. Our causes also seem closely aligned. Since WNY4H is a very new group, do you have any peace signs/banners/posters you might be willing to bring to the event?

Thank you so much for your consideration.

Take care,
Olivia Dehm
