Dear GVCP Member:

The next regular GVCP Meeting is Sunday, April 23rd, 1:00 PM at the community room of Goodwill Industries, Geneseo Towne Plaza, 4119 Lakeville Rd, Geneseo.  *NOTE NEW LOCATION*  New members are welcome!

GVCP’S TAX-DAY RALLY: WEDNESDAY, APRIL 19TH, 4:00 PM, OUTSIDE REP. CHRIS COLLINS’ OFFICE, 128 MAIN ST, GENESEO.

WE WILL DEMAND THAT COLLINS RECOGNIZE THE FOLLY AND CRUELTY OF THE TERRIBLE BUDGET THAT PRES. TRUMP PROPOSES.  WE ARE ALREADY SPENDING MORE THAN HALF OF OUR DISCRETIONARY BUDGET ON THE MILITARY, AND TRUMP WANTS TO ADD $54 BILLION MORE TO THAT ALREADY BLOATED MILITARY BUDGET!

We will follow the same rules that the C-27 group follows:  We are peaceful and will not engage in violence or civil disobedience.  We will park on the street—not in the small plaza in front of Collins’ office. We will not block access to people who want to visit Collins’ office or any other business in the plaza. However, we will exercise our Constitutional rights of peaceful assembly, free speech, and petitioning for redress of grievances.  We will bring flyers to distribute to passersby.  We’ll supply postcards to be mailed to Collins with our message.

When GVCP was founded, in 1972, our motto was, “Human Race Not Arms Race.”  We will continue to push for government spending to help “People, not the Pentagon.”  “Books not Bombs.”  Please bring signs to convey this important message.  WE NEED EVERY POSSIBLE GVCP MEMBER TO BE PRESENT TO HELP MAKE OUR VOICES HEARD.  PLEASE JOIN US!

Stand with our fellow peace activists outside Chris Collins’ office on Tuesdays
.
The C-27 group of activists—including several GVCP members—protests outside Chris Collins’ office every Tuesday, 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.  Their basic demand is that Rep. Collins hold a town hall meeting, so that he can hear our concerns.  It’s a great opportunity to “take to the streets” with other like-minded people.  It’s a peaceful protest, and it’s a powerful one.

Peace,

Arnie Matlin for GVCP
