Dear GVCP Member,
Many people have written to me telling me that they will be at the Geneseo fountain—if Trump fires Mueller—on Friday, 12/22 at 5:00 PM or Saturday, 12/23 at 12:00 Noon.
Right now, my request is that you go to the website below (in red) and RSVP. The problem is that only four people have actually RSVP’d to our rally. By contrast, Batavia lists 24 attendees, Rochester 621, and Canandaigua 97.
If you’re someone who isn’t on the GVCP mailing list, you wouldn’t know that we will have a good turnout, and you might opt for one of the other rallies. So, please RSVP. It’s user-friendly.
The good news is that every state (and Puerto Rico) is going to have a rally. And, of course, some states will have dozens of them.
Let’s hope that Trump doesn’t fire Mueller, so we don’t have to stand out in the cold. However, if Trump does fire Mueller, we’ll be there.

Geneseo is now officially listed as a site for a Rapid Response if Trump fires Special Counsel Robert Mueller this Friday, December 22nd. You can find out more by going to the official website, but the information listed there isn’t sufficient. More information is in blue below.

The times and rules of the event are below in blue. THE LOCATION IS ON MAIN STREET, GENESEO, AT THE BRONZE BEAR FOUNTAIN. I’ve called the Geneseo Police Department, and told them that we might be there, but, then again, we might not. We will have to wait to see if Trump does or doesn’t fire Mueller. No one wants to be out in the street for a protest at 5:00 PM Friday evening or noon on Saturday. However, if we need to be there, we will be there.
The C27 group isn’t co-sponsoring, but Jill Gruber has promised to send this out to C27’s list. Please forward this information to your own lists.
***WE NEED SIGNS** People who know how to make signs please make signs. We have plenty of peace signs, but no signs that fit directly with this situation. MoveOn.org has suggested one sign: https://s3.amazonaws.com/s3.moveon.org/images/Nobody_is_above_the_law_placard
“Nobody is above the law” isn’t a catchy slogan, but it’s a start. How about, “Save Democracy,” or “No Dictators”? WE WILL NEED SIGNS!

Rallies will begin hours after news breaks of a Mueller firing on Friday, December 22nd:
If Mueller is fired BEFORE 2 P.M. local time —> events will begin at 5 P.M. local time on Friday, December 22nd.
If Mueller is fired AFTER 2 P.M. local time —> events will begin at 12:00 Noon local time the following day. Saturday, December 23rd.
This is our moment to stand up to protect our democracy. Let’s mobilize to show that we won’t let Donald Trump become the authoritarian that he aspires to be. The law applies to all of us, and it’s essential that it also applies to the most powerful people in our country.
