On Friday, Donald Trump declared a “state of emergency” in order to steal money from other government projects to build his deeply unpopular border wall. Even after Democrats cut a bad deal that handed Republicans more detention beds on the border and additional funding to pursue their racist agenda, Trump STILL wasn’t satisfied. So now he is undermining the Constitution and putting himself above the law to get what he wants. Congress, and all people in this country, must unite at this critical moment and say NO to Trump — no to his fake emergency, no to the monument to hate he wants to build on the border, and no to white supremacist policies that harm immigrants and refugees. Democracy for America is partnering with United We Dream, MoveOn, Win Without War and many other progressive organizations to organize mass protests on Presidents’ Day—Monday, February 18th. Are you ready to hit the streets to defend immigrants and our democracy? Click here to find a protest near you.
If you choose to attend an event, you agree to engage in nonviolent, peaceful action, to act lawfully, and to strive to de-escalate any potential confrontations with those who may disagree with our values.
Can’t make it on Monday? (Or, even if you can make it.)
Chip in to help mobilize DFA members against Trump’s illegal, racist actions, and to help us keep up the pressure on Congress to put an end to them.
Thanks for taking action. We can’t let Trump get away with this. — The DFA Team
