From GVCP Member Jim Swarts:
Subject: Reclaim Armistice Day
Dear Arnie,
I was planning on attending the GVCP meeting on Sunday and discus VFP’s Reclaim Armistice Day campaign but unfortunately we have a family emergency which requires my presence here in Rochester on Sunday. If you have a chance will you review the material on the Reclaiming Armistice Day at https://www.veteransforpeace.org/take-action/armistice-day and bring the topic up at the meeting. I had printed off copies of the flyer we distributed at last year’s event in Rochester (and hope to distribute again this year) with the intent of distributing them at the GVCP meeting and encourage members to distribute them around Livingston County and region until my plans were changed.. See https://www.veteransforpeace.org/files/2315/7193/3631/Updated_Armistice_Day_Statement.pdf for a copy of the flyer.
VFP Chapter 23 will be holding a Reclaim Armistice Day bannering at the Rochester Veterans Memorial Bridge on Monday, November 11, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Details of that activity will be forthcoming on the Chapter 23 announcement list in the next couple of days.
While I cannot make it to the GVCP meeting on Sunday, I hope to be in Geneseo on Wednesday for Meg Stolee’s memorial service.
Peace,
Jim Swarts
