On January 22nd, members of Genesee Valley Citizens for Peace and Veterans for Peace Rochester Chapter 23 celebrated the first day of The Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW), which has entered into force. About 20 people came together to welcome “the beginning of the end” for nuclear weapons, as church bells rang throughout the village.
Holly Adams hosted the celebration by reading from the TPNW. It was cold and windy, but people who attended said that this historic day deserved celebration.
