We had a very successful action in Geneseo on World Peace Day, 9/21. Our campus sister group, Geneseo Peace Action, brought many people to the event, as did our friends from Rochester Chapter 23 Veterans for Peace. The Livingston County News covered the event—watch for their coverage.
No one was very enthusiastic about a meeting on 9/25, so we canceled it.
However, we do have matters to share and consider:
There’s talk of organizing a Peace Action chapter in Rochester. (It’s bizarre that the Upstate cities of Buffalo, Syracuse, Albany, and Binghamton have Peace Action chapters, but not Rochester.) If anyone has interest in this project, please send me a message.
Jess Rivera, President of Geneseo Peace Action, and I have been working on bringing a documentary film to campus, with cooperation between GVCP and GPA to make this happen.
GVCP will be celebrating our 50th Anniversary in May, 2022! We need to plan for a significant, peaceful event to mark this important date. Maybe, using Zoom, we could include peace activists from PANYS and national PA. Please think about this.
Next meeting will be Saturday, October 23, 1:00 PM.
