Thursday, May 8th was the Opening of the Genesee Valley Council on the Arts (GVCA) annual Members Exhibit. It was also the 8th Annual Paula Henry Peace Award, given by Genesee Valley Citizens for Peace (GVCP), in memory of Paula Henry. Each year this award goes to a member artist whose work best expresses the need for peace in the world. Paula was an active member of both GVCA and GVCP.
GVCP is happy to give this year’s Paula Henry Peace Award to Louise Michaud. Louise’s caption for her ceramic piece read: “Spelling PEACE to be understood….”

If we want the military-industrial complex to understand peace, we have to spell it out so they’ll understand, in the NATO phonetic alphabet.

The Opening was attended by several GVCP members. All the art is fantastic—visit the Arts Council and check it out!
