These great photos by Gayle Mosher perfectly capture GVCP’s 51st commemoration of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki 80 years ago. We mourned, we sang, and we promised to continue our resistance to nuclear weapons and nuclear war.
We had good media coverage from Rochester Channel 10, Channel 13, and the Livingston County News.

We sent over 30 postcards to Senator Gillibrand, telling her that we expect her to support S. 192, which is a modest but important step to stop a U.S. nuclear first strike. (Yesterday, Win Without War called for support of the same legislation. I will forward their message separately.)
Next event: Resist Rally on Saturday, August 23rd, 11:00 AM in Lima at the Four Corners. GVCP will co-sponsor this rally, along with the Indivisible groups 5&20 Alliance and Hemlock Rising. (GVCP meeting will follow the rally—everyone invited.) See you there!
