Paula Henry Peace Award 2026 Winner

May 9, 2026

GVCP Members, Holly and Chris, presented the 9th annual Paula Henry Peace Award on Friday, May 8, 2026 at the Genesee Valley Council on the Arts opening of the annual Members Exhibit.

Phil Thrall of Dansville was the winning artist, with his piece titled “Chained”. The piece is made of wood and depicts a peace sign and a heart chained together. Love and peace are indeed inextricably linked, or chained. The links in the wood carved chain were all of one piece of wood!

There was a very nice mixed media painting also on the topic of peace, called We Are The World, by Deborah McAffee, also of Dansville.
